Rolled a 1? We got you.
The Ultimate Fumble Chart
One hundred and one ways for a bad roll to get gloriously worse. Spin the die, read your fate out loud, and let the table decide if it sticks.
Fate awaits your throw
Give the die a spin. Whatever comes up, the chart below is canon at any table brave enough to use it.

Entry 101 is real. You rolled 100 twice and unlocked it, lucky you.
Rolled a real die at your table?
What is the Ultimate Fumble Chart?
A fumble chart (also called a critical failure table) adds a consequence when a player rolls a 1. Instead of a plain miss, the table rolls percentile dice and reads the matching entry. This chart holds 101 original fumble effects, written for tabletop roleplaying and wargaming alike, ranked from soul-crushing to suspiciously fortunate. Entry 1 is the worst thing that can happen to you. The closer you get to 100, the softer fate becomes. GlassStaff publishes the Ultimate Fumble Chart free, with all 101 effects designed in house in Boskoop, the Netherlands.
- Roll a 1 on an attack, check or save, whenever your table plays with fumbles.
- Spin the die above (or roll your own percentile dice) to get a number from 1 to 100. Not sure how two d10s make 100? D&D dice explained covers it.
- Read the matching entry out loud. The table is allowed to laugh. The GM, or your opponent, has the final word.
House rule it freely: some tables only roll fumbles on a confirmed 1, some cap effects at one round, some make the player eat a biscuit. All are valid. Many entries use familiar d20-style shorthand for saves and stats: translate them into whatever your system uses, or treat them as pure narration.
All 101 fumble effects, worst to best
Ranked by pain. Rolling low is a disaster, rolling high is a mercy, and number 101 is not on the die at all. Legend says the die must roll a perfect 100 twice in a row before it shows itself.
